Birgit Mühlram

Geboren in Österreich, absolvierte Birgit ihre Ausbildung an der Ballettabteilung am Konservatorium der Stadt Wien unter Prof. Karl Musil.
Ihr erstes Engagement führte sie an das Aalto Ballett Theater Essen, an dem sie 2004 bis 2007 im Ensemble unter der Leitung von Prof. Martin Puttke tanzte, und zeitgleich beim Ballett Dortmund gastierte. 2007 wechselte sie zu Ballet Ireland, wo sie erstmals auch als Choreografin Erfahrungen sammelte. Neben einem Engagement mit der persischen Ballettkompanie Les Ballets Persans in Stockholm, führten sie Auslandstourneen nach Polen, Japan, in die USA und nach Kanada.
Seit 2008 ist Birgit Mühlram als freischaffende Künstlerin tätig. Sie war u.a. solistisch wie auch als Teil von Ensembles an Oper und Schauspiel Köln, Oper Bonn und Düsseldorf, Bundeskunsthalle Bonn, Theater Dortmund, Theater am Wall Münster, am Hamburger Sprechwerk, dem Musiktheater im Revier Gelsenkirchen, sowie zuletzt bei den Internationalen Beethovenfesten Bonn 2021 zu sehen.

Neben ihrer eigenen Auftrittstätigkeit choreografiert Birgit Ensembles als auch Solos für Galas und Events. Darüber hinaus unterrichtet sie Tanz und Pilates, nachdem sie 2009 ihre Pilates-Trainerausbildung erfolgreich abschloß.

Gesangsunterricht erhielt Birgit Mühlram seit 2009 bei der Sopranistin Csilla Csövari, Prof. Arthur Janzen und Lisa Glatz, wodurch sie ihre ersten Engagements als Sängerin erhielt.
2013 – 2015 studierte sie Schauspiel als Gast-Studentin an der Theaterakademie Köln.
Seit 2015 ist sie Ensemblemitglied des Flugtheaters ANGELS Aerials.
Seit 2017 trainiert sie Boden- und Luftakrobatik am Zirkus- und Artistikzentrum Köln, und war zu Gast bei Aerial Silk Vienna und am National Center for Circus Arts, London, – wodurch Engagements als Artistin folgten.

Anknüpfend an ihr Medizin-Studium an der Universität Wien
(1. + 2. Studien-Abschnitt), absolvierte Birgit die Fortbildungen Onkologische Trainingstherapie (OTT, Uniklinik Köln, 2020) und Psychoonkologie (PsyOnko Köln, DKG, 2022). Sie entwickelte ein Online Tanz-Projekt für Menschen mit metastasiertem Krebs, welches gefördert wurde mit Künstlerstipendien des Ministeriums für Kunst und Wissenschaft des Landes NRW und erfolgreich umgesetzt in Kooperation mit der Klinischen Psychoonkologie der Uniklinik Köln (2021). Seit 2023 leitet Birgit das Projekt in Kooperation mit der Frauenselbsthilfe Krebs (FSH), gefördert durch die BARMER.

Born in Austria, Birgit Mühlram graduated from the Ballet Department of the Vienna Conservatory in 2005 under the direction of Prof. Karl Musil.
Her first engagement was with Aalto Ballet Theatre Essen, where she danced from 2004-2007 in the ballet company under the direction of Prof. Martin Puttke, while guesting with the Ballet Dortmund simultaneously. In 2007 she changed to Ballet Ireland, where she acquired experience also as a choreographer for the first time. Alongside a contract with the Persian Ballet Company Les Ballets Persans in Stockholm, foreign tours also led her to Poland, Japan, the US and Canada.
Since 2008 Birgit Mühlram has been working as freelance artist. She was onstage both as a member of ensembles and soloist at the Opera and Playhouse Cologne, Opera Bonn and Düsseldorf, Bundeskunsthalle Bonn, Theatre Dortmund, Theatre Am Wall Münster, Musictheatre Gelsenkirchen and the Hamburger Sprechwerk, as well as the International Beethoven-Festivals Bonn 2021.

In addition to her own appearances on stage Birgit is choreographing both ensembles and solos for galas and various events. She also enjoys teaching dance and Pilates, after completing her Pilates teacher training in 2009.

Since 2009, Birgit has trained in singing with the soprano Csilla Csövari, Prof. Arthur Janzen and Lisa Glatz, enabling her to achieve her first engagements as a singer.
From 2013-2015 she was studying drama as guest student at the Theatre Academy Cologne.
Since 2015 she is working as aerial artist with the freelance company ANGELS Aerials. Since 2017 she is studying floor and aerial acrobatics at the Centre for Circus and Artistry Cologne, and was guest at Aerial Silk Vienna and the National Centre for Circus Arts, London, which enabled her to achieve engagements within circus arts.

Ensuing her study of medicine at University of Vienna (1st & 2nd Study Section), Birgit undertook further studies completing the course in Oncological Training Therapy (OTT, University Hospital Cologne, 2020) and Psycho-Oncology (PsyOnko Köln, DKG, 2022). She developed a creative dance-based project for people with metastasized cancer. The project was supported by the Department of Art and Science NRW and implemented in cooperation with the Clinical Psycho-Oncology Department of University Hospital Cologne in 2021. Currently, Birgit is developing the project in cooperation with Self Help Cancer for Women (FSH), sponsored by the health insurance BARMER.
